Daniel Burton
Daniel Burton (b. 1944) is a native of Chicago. He studied composition with Erle Moore and Edwin Labounty and holds degrees in music from the University of Memphis as well as the Performer’s Certificate of the University in piano.
He was Instructor in Music at Harding University and later Professor of Music at Arizona Western College before moving to San Diego to serve as Organist/Composer in Residence at the 4000-member First United Methodist Church of San Diego.
Among his published works are hundreds of original compositions and arrangements offered by perhaps three dozen publishers over the past 50 years. Choral, organ, orchestral, solo instrument and ensemble combinations are included. He was founder/editor of the successful harp music publishing concern, Jubal Press.
He continues an active composition life divided between San Ramón, Costa Rica, and San Diego, California.
